Netflix subscribers are receiving emails claiming the service was”unable to validate your billing information for the next billing cycle of your subscription”. A link is provided to update information, but even though the email may look official, it is not from Netflix. To verify whether there is an actual problem with your account, go to the Netflix.com website by typing the URL directly into your browser, or use the bookmark you already have saved. You can also check on your TV or device by going to ‘account’ and checking status there. Don’t click on any of the links in the email. Those links go to a fake site, whose goal is to get you to enter your credit card and other personal information.
Over 100 million Netflix users have been targeted in this scam, and even a small number of people falling for it can have huge results for the scammers. Don’t let them count you in their pool of victims.
